Connecting to Multiplayer works fine for me, but when my dad tries to connect under his windows xp username, it doesn't work. We have two different profiles and both work fine on my username but neither work on his. When he tried to connect, it comes up with a message that says internal server error, then when you press ok, it goes to the LAN multiplayer area. ???
This is what the message looks like:

Looks like some missing read / execute rights for the second user. Give that user Administrator rights (temporarily) to find out if that is the case.
I also notice that the version information is missing. Right middle at the bottom of the screen. Behind the "V" the VSK3 version nr should appear. Obviously the config file(s) are not processed.
Also, you may check if firewall settings are bound to user identity.

everybody has administrative privilages on this computer that is actually the main username.
I don't think the firewall is bound to user identity but I will check, also, how do I fix the config files or version or whatever?

just saw that on my username, the version number does show up, so it may have something to do with connecting on his username not working.

If you are using the same CD you have to use the same user id and password (and tell your dad to stop entering his windows username and password in everywhere). However, you can still use separate boat names.

do you mean in virtual skipper we have to use the same one? because that isn't the problem, I can use both my profile and his in multiplayer, while he can't user either. If you mean the id and code for connecting to the internet, he never got asked for an online profile, it just comes up with the internal server error message. If you mean something else I'm lost :S

?? there's only one internet key per CD (aka licence).
If you only have one, you can only use one. Trying to log on both (You AND your dad) won't work. Either should however be able to log on using that one ID.

this is from a help file within VSK3.
How do I play online ?
« When I want to play online, the game asks for an online key, whereis it ? »
The key is on a sticker at the back of the manual. Enter the 19 caracters code.
To create an online account enter your:
1. online key
2. account name
3. password
4. country
5. town
6. youe e-mail is optionnal
You can't create a new account with an already used name (by another player), so don't enter a too basic name.
Remember your account name and password, you will need it if you want to re-install the game.
The fields 4 and 5 are used to find servers
Your e-mail can be used to retrieve your account if you lose it
I lost my online account
If you entered your e-mail, just launch the game and click « send e-mail » on the online subscription dialog box.
Otherwise, please contact your local retailer.
I can't create a server.
You need to configure or deactivate your firewall if you have one (at least open the port 2350 in TCP and UDP).
Sometimes, Windows XP users forget they activated their default firewall. It is configured in local network connexion properties -> TCP/IP properties -> advanced, then Options -> TCP/IP filtering -> Properties.
Zone Alarm users must launch the game in windowed mode the first time they connect to internet to allow Virtual Skipper to use the connexion.
The « BitDefender » software enters in conflict with the game. You can either uninstall it or upgrade it to version 7.1, or install the game in one of the following folders (in lower case): avx, mgui, rav7, ravwin8, sweep.
Ill add... if your problem is spacific to one machine uninstall it and remove as much as you can find there are registry entries that dont get uninstalled. I believe I had a similar problen not too long ago and I think me copy of the 2.2 patch was corrupt a new copy fixed my problem after an uninstall and reinstall.

I re-installed the game under his username (the main admin) and it worked for him, but not for me. Since I use it more often I re-installed it again on mine, and of course, it didn't work on his. But a few days ago, it did. It now works fine on both our usernames....very strange. ???
