Maybe a "spectator" option so you could be on the side, so to say, and just be able to watch only, one could use a chat program of choice to talk about it and not interfere with the race.

This I think could be best handled through a specially designed web-site for spectators that by default should be open for anyone ( not just VS players) to watch (what a pub wide-screen TV gimmick that one could be :beer:).
On the other hand, if there are to come a spectator mode with VSK-2 a host should be able to define beforehand if a race is to be held disclosed from outside viewers, for a selected group of spectators through a password entrance :pimp:, or open for all to view.
