Posted: 04 Sep 2003 22:31It is my opinion, that the wind shadows are too mechanical i VSK2. Being covered by another boat means either; you are in the wind shadow or you are not in the wind shadow. The wind shadow should be more increasing or decreasing in softer curves.
From a tactical point, being half covered in VSK is not an option. You can only be fully covered, with a high limitation in wind as consequense, or not covered at all.
I think a more detailed look at the concept of wind shadowing would add to the tactical aspects of VSK.
