Hello,

A couple of changes to the sailing instructions:

In order to stimulate for frequent challenges, the losing team will no longer drop 1 position on the ladder if it was initially lower ranked. We are only taking from the rich and giving to the poor... Please note that rating points will change in any case, but these are (as you know) not connected to the ranking. Ref: SI Article 4.3.6.

A 4th criteria has been added for challenge priority. The team that was the last to challenge another team will have lowest priority for the next request round with this team. Ref: SI Article 2.3.6.1.

Question I'll ask here not to open a topic just for this.

Can we race 2 vs. 2 (provided both parties agree). I am asking this because the SI are not clear, and we got a situation yesterday where 2 players of each team showed up, but the 3rd did not. So the race could have happened 2 vs. 2.

Given how hard a time we are having finding a time slot, this could make things a little easier ^_^.

Oh Master of Ceremony, what's your word of wisdom on this one?

I think article 3.1 in the SI gives you the answer you want. At least it was the intention, but let me know if you want me to rephrase it.

"3.1. The teams may decide to race under any conditions, but unless they agree on anything else, the following instructions are deciding."

OK very cool. I just wanted to confirm.

I guess the sentence is clear, but given we were not sure (murphs and I), maybe a small addition in the SI would be helpful to others as well.
eg, that conditions does not only mean "weather", but basically any reasonable decision (we will not call a MR a 1 vs 1 TR, we have vsk-match for that ^_^) about the race the two teams can agree on, including number of players in each team and errr what else?

Cheers!

what else?

Everything that is listed in article 3:
- The rules (ISAF vs VSK3)
- Number of races
- Course selection
- Boat type
- Controls
- Rules level
- or simply "anything"

I made some changes to the SI, of which the most signifficant is the inclusion of Appendix D for VSK.
