IMO its a 18.2 because mark-room involves room to round the mark as necessary and 43.1(b) exonerates Perla for any 16 breache.

Hi all,

Agree with Jean-Luc. As long as Perla is sailing within the mark-room he is entitled to, he is exonerated from breaking rule 16.1.
And well done to Jean-Luc for referring to the new rule number for exoneration in the latest official racing rules of sailing .
