To make navigation easier around rounding marks. I guess you all have seen the practice mode of vsk, when you sail against a ghost boat. They allready have the code in other words.

yep, that is a must have feature, with a little toggle button like one of the F keys, to switch it on and off....

Interesting to see this discussion since I chatted with VSK a couple days ago suggesting that opponent's sails in view 1 and 2 (when opponent is behind and close) be made tranparent. They confirmed that would indeed be the case in VSK2. :)

Never mind transparent sails. I think we need transparent gotchies. I am more than a little suspicious about the physical attributes of one or more of our itbycers. I will swear that a yet to be named skipper tried to put his prow in my stern around that upwind mark the other day

NOW READ THIS -- I DO NOT MARCH TO THAT DRUMMER

Unless of course ....... <bbBBfffGr>

Man this bottle of Canadian Rye is GOOOOOD!

No, rather than transparent sails I would like to see an option to turn on and off a window in the sails. Most of the large genoa have a window in real life.

Don't want to make the game easier, just better.

coupled with an on-board cam position and cams that can be moved vertically, as well as horizontaly, I think transparent sails would make godd sense.
Perhaps one could have sails with the transparency of some of the modern fabrics used on real waters, in combination with a window panel.
