There's actually an option to turn off the sound in the game, but that is only affecting the lobby. The game sound comes back as soon as a race is launched. This makes it hard to hear what is said on RW during the races.

you can adjust the volume for the game like just hearable and you can adjust the volume for RW to be loud and clear. Works fine here.

... and if you are using Team Wico, there is a separate sound volume that should be adjusted on it too.

... and a mic volume as well !

The game volume adjustment is on the options screen on vsk2.
