Hi all,
I protested Sam for rule 10 violation a little bit after t=11min38. In my opinion, from the instant Jiel have finished his tack, Sam might do his best to keep clear in bearing away. But Sam did nothing and Jiel had to bear greatly to not hit him. There was no contact, Nadeo inflicted to Sam a 10 penalty which was canceled. Sam got some advantage to control Jiel after that.
What do you think ?

Re-edit : the right t is t=10min38sec. I deleted the wrong video.

I started my bear to lift stern just a half second before you jiel start bear. i am sure i could to avoid you doing only doing job without your bear (help).

on this case I think: after close hauled u dont have to hesitated to pen otherwise the doubt

I think this is green, because Jiel didn't really give Thinkhard the chance to lift his stern.
If Jiel stopped turning earlier, we would know.
If then Thinkhard went straight, and Jiel would have had to bear away, then 10.

Case Shuar vs Masino :
It si not exactly the same situation because Masino could not bear away due to boats on starboard tack arriving. However, IMO, Masino was very late to react once Shura was row. He could tack earlier to keep clear and deserves a penalty for rule 10 violation.

Indeed, Sam and me crossed several times and the P concerned t=10min38sec. My video (made at t=11min50) is not the right incident... Sorry all. The video from Shura is othe right one.

The event admin (sam) has the responsibility to follow up and remove flags when either protests are solved or protests are not submitted.
