Vsk bug ! - vsk bugs out

Hi guys,

Can anyone help ... my vsk2 crashed every time I go for a sail, in single user mode or multi play ... when I press the go button or the race creator does VSK2 crashes .. this has been going on for 4 weeks now ... Not sure how to fix, I have made no changes to my PC. The real proble I guess is that I cannot find my install disk anywhere ....so reinstalling is going to be a problem ... any smart ideas ..

Rob has been trying to hack VSK for more speed :p .
I had a similar problem (not excactly the same) a while ago. I had to reinstall in a different folder. I guess I could have just replaced my corrupt config file with a good one, so you can try that first. I can send you mine.

If it doesnt work, then I'm sure one of us can mail you a copy of the CD.

Video card drivers, it's always the video card drivers

It sounds like VSK is crashing as soon as VSK tries switching modes to render the on-the-water scenery. Update to the latest drivers for your card.. or if you upgraded them about 4 weeks ago try going back to the old ones.

Did you make any changes to your desktop (or other graphic) settings? Some setups are happiest when the game's resolution and colour depth is the same as the the desktop's resolution and color depth.

Rob, if you use a GFORCE...be carefull with updating,\

the latest drivers of the Nvidea cards don't support directx 9.1b

so get the 43.45, and not the 49.03....

but this is only when you use gforce.... ???

thanks for the info .... which reminded me .. I had made a change ---- installed the lasted video drivers -- wait for it ... my nvidia gforce card....

I had to down rev the video drivers + reinstall the game ... even now though its not 100% stable ... crashing about 1 in 5 times ...
