Postby Marseille5 » 10 Jun 2005 13:30

Hello guys !

I saw 5 minutes ago that Nadeo has began his work on VSK4 !
Very nice thing.
At the moment, there is only one picture:

But some more will come
As you can see, the harbour in the picture is Marseille, I'm very happy :D It's not the only new harbour, there is: Marseille, Valence, Rio and Vancouver.

Cheers

Great news! It must be cool the sail in your own backyard... To bad you wont have time to play the game though, as you will be busy with your education :p.

Autotranslated text:
Nadeo and Focus reveal new Virtual Skipper One would have almost forgotten, with the phenomenon TrackMania, that Nadéo was especially known it does not have there so a long time for its superb simulation of veil, Virtual Skipper. That many the fans is thus reassured, Nadéo never released its first love, quite to the contrary. We reveal you today the first image ingame of Virtual Skipper 4 which will take the sea in October 2005. The play will profit well on improvements from the engine from Nadéo, but will propose especially considerable innovations like 6 new water levels of which Marseilles, Valence, Rio or Vancouver. The image of this day, is an image ingame which proceeds off Marseilles to the accesses of the castle of Yew. Good news!

Also that they make VSK4 not only a new patch for VSK3. That, I think, will make more improvements on the product ie more/bigger changes (at least they have more time to do them) :;):

AWESOME STUFF!

That screen shot is hot stuff... a lot of detail shown in the water etc. Now we need to see more of the boats close up, to see if our sail camber issue was included...

I sure hope they are talking to someone about sailing in Vancouver as it's not the easiest place in the world. Pretty light stuff w/ lots of surface current & tides.

This link at Royal Van is the best resource to bring a newbie up to speed about English Bay -

How is the transition between versions handled in general?

Obviously for organised regattas, the game version would need to become part of the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions, but for general public games, would a new server be created for the new version so there is no confusion?
