Team USA accepts this opportunity to begin our ladder with an easy win :p

We will make the arrangements for a mutually convenient time (like 3:00 GMT) and course (sydney harbor around the islands with 180 degree shifts and 2.0 knots of current) :)

We disrespectfully decline your challenge as it is beneath our team to race such a ragtag collection of sailors.

Just kidding, of course. Team USA will be happy to accept this challenge and look forward to the races. We will need some time to regroup (I have been away for 10 days) and plan for a time that will work.

Match parameters
Course: TR Straight
Wind: f4, f5, f6

Casino,
It is a hard time of year for Team USA (at least for me). However, I will email the team and find out if there is a time that others can race.

Best, JTF

Hi Gerard,

Both Australia Gold and Team extra dry have requested to challenge ITBYC USA. Australia Gold have priority as described in article 2.3.6.2 in the SI.

It's a little early to decleare a walkover. But what you could do is to claim the challenge as official, ref SI article 2.3.7.

Open the topic for the challenge, then you will have 30 days to arrange the races. If USA is not available, you can claim a walkover win.

From the SI
2.3.6 If multiple teams request to challenge the same team before the team has accepted, then the forced priority is as follows (1 takes precedence over 2 etc.):

1. All other teams have priority over the team which was the last to challenge the relevant team through a challenge request.
2. A team ranked below the challenged team has priority over a team ranked above the challenged team.
3. A team with rank closer to the challenged team has priority.
4. A team posting the request first has priority.

So wouldn't Team Extra Dry have "priority" since they challenged first, and since 2.3.6.1 has precedent over 2.3.6.2?

If "Team extra dry" was refered to in 2.3.6.1, yes.
But the last team to challenge "ITBYC USA" was "Friends in the wind".
2.3.6.1 therefore reads: "Friends in the wind" have lowest priority to challenge "ITBYC USA".
