Race 5, protest on Ilya for not taking enough valid penalty turns.
Rule 10 broken 5:38 into the race when his mast hit mine.
Rule 11 broken when he hit Shuraz at 5:52.
Only 1 proper penalty turn is done. The first penalty turn is invalid, as he didn't get well clear of other boats before he did it.
You are not well clear of other boats if you break a rule for not keeping clear during your turn...

Race 4, Ilya refuses to cancel 2 penalties from Arap:

49 seconds in to the replay, Ilya luff and as soon as boats are within immediate contact zone, Arap begins to luff to keep clear.
Ilya continues to luff and is breaking rule 16.1.

1:30 into the replay, Arap tacks to clear his penalty.
Ilya tacks with him and interferes, and is breaking rule 24.2.
It was reasonably possible for Ilya to not interfere... Actually he was late to start, and wasted even more time tacking!

Arap left the racing, because Ilya is acting like a bully, creating an unfriendly and unfair race environment.
Ilya, you have to cancel all penalties that are requested to be cancelled. If it's a correct penalty, just file a simple protest in this forum.
When you refuse to cancel a penalty that was bad, you get 10 penalty points according to Appendix D for VSK5.
For this race, your team got a total of 20 penalty points, and therefore lost the race.

In race 8, I'm protesting Ilya under 16.2.
At 9:10 into the replay, Ilya is on starboard and I'm bearing away to pass behind him.
He bears down and points straight at me, and I have to change course immediately to avoid contact.
A school example of a 16.2 violation. See TR Call D2 in the team racing call book.

At 9:50 into the replay, Ilya bears away on port and sails straight into the bow of Shuraz.
Ilya breaks rule 10 and rule 2.

Ilya, please explain your behavior for this race in particular and for the event in general. It is not acceptable.

Speaking of race 8, I agree with you Jean-Luc, Aleksandr is breaking rule 10 at the mark rounding 7 minutes into the replay.
Shuraz can not luff over course to next mark and have protection under rule 18...
Aleks, you should have gybed inside Sova and me in that mark rounding. Sova could not close the door on you, just like you could not close on Jiel.
And if Sova then would have luffed you between the marks, it would have been good for your team as I would have passed him...

Aleks, you don't have to be sorry, all of us make mistakes every race night :-)
Thanks for the videos. When I look the video from the last bottom mark, I notice that JieL actually gybes to port before you luff, I didn't see this yesterday.
This means you have right of way, and you can luff to the mark as long as you respect rule 16.1. In this case, your luff was good, no 16 broken.
JieL was given room to keep clear, he bears away and gybes back to startboard, and the following 10 penalty was wrong and ok to cancel.

I have noted a protest in race 1 and race 6 on the scoreboard.
The ones who intended to protest, please post the replay time of the incident in this forum, only then we can have a look at it.
It takes only 2 minutes to do this...

If you need replay files, I have them all.

Samuel, I wanted to check race 7 if I was right, so I kind of protested myself...
I started luffing slowly at 4:16.
You started responding slowly at 4:18, a little late.
You stopped responding partly, before continuing.
Mast contact was as late as 4:21.

Conclusion: You could have luffed more, 16.1 was wrong, 11 was correct. You did your pen. Case closed :-)
PS! My goal was not to penalize you, but luff only to create bigger gap between SoVa and me so that he had enough room to tack in.
