Nik to leeward, me to windward and Olivier also to windward but behind me.
I break the overlap, so Nik has no luffing rights on me.
Nik shall not sail above his proper course...
...but luffing Olivier is his proper course.
He would have luffed Olivier even if I was not there, which is the test to make about it being a proper course or not.
