resolution:
add the following line to your HOSTS file. c:/windows/hosts
Below you find mine as of today:
--------------------->8 snip 8<--------------
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
213.186.41.90 www.virtualskipper2.com # virtualskipper2 20.09.2003
--------------------->8 snip 8<--------------
HOSTS file where is it?
In Windows 95/98/Me this is in c:\windows\
In Windows 2000/XP this is in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\
If Not, try searching for HOSTS.
2 options
1. ) replace the original
2.) add the following line
"213.186.41.90 www.virtualskipper2.com #some comment you might add"
WARNING: At some point in time that line will become invalid, as
there will be no website at that IP nr. Trust the DNS servers to resolve correctly and delete that line from HOSTS file then. Or replace the IP with the then propper IP.
you should now be able to connect.........
UNKNOWN LOGIN
Possibly, probably do you have to give the USERNAME case sensitive.
OLD: qwerty = Qwerty = QWERTY
now only the name as given with your registration is valid.
BAD KEYCODE
after klicking ok, a bad keycode error may show up.
By klicking ok as fast as you can, for a number of times,
you get passed.
