Playing the game with a direct satellite conn.

Ask the ITBYC panel

I'm planning on hitting the road for a year. I will install a 2 way mobile satellite for internet connection on a large RV. I will have a latency of 1/2 to 1 sec. Will this f up my game? Is VSK a very chatty game? Anyone know this??

I think Menbrial has a satalite connection and you can see how he has just a bit of lag. Not much of a problem unless you host.

Hi James..thanks.

I know he lives way up in the mountains of Colorado so it make sense if he has a satellite conn. I alwasy thought he was on a dial-up. I'll ask him tonight..he seems to be online every night.

A ping time that high would be unplayable, I sure wouldn't want you in my games! ;) In general satellite connections are unusable for gaming due to the high latency. If Menbrial does have a satellitc connection I wouldn't be surprised if he sails over a modem.
In theory there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice there is.
