New sailing sites

Suggestions for the next VSK version (and VSK bug reports)

Postby euphoria » 02 May 2005 16:59

If there will be another release, new sailing sites will be added. Nadeo want feedback on this as well. Please post suggestions on beautiful, well known sites that are good for sailing.

Valencia is an obvious first choice due to the Americas Cup.
Other?

Cascais was considered a good option for the next AC and was in the race until the end. Amongst other factors, we lost due to the fact that the AC boats would have to be rebuilt. It is normal to race with 30 knots +. It's a windsurfing heaven.

The most beatifull site I've ever been was Rio de Janeiro.

I would like the Seattle, Washington (US) and San Juan Islands area considered. With all the islands and strong currents, it could be a challenge. Also the Hawaiian Islands might be a good inclusion.
I have an excellent video of Dennis Conner racing his big catamaran Stars & Stripes on Lake Geneva (Switzerland/France) in their Bol d'Or race and that would be excellent to race Open 60s on.
The problem is not what you do not know, but what you know that is not so.

I think any place called "brest" is worth a long hard look.

The Hawaiian Islands for sure...always wind...I mean always...lived there for 7 years and never saw no wind.

And the women.....out if this world! But I guess nobody cares about that.
